What We Do
Charlotte Harbor Dragons (CHD) is a paddling club that specializes in the sport of Dragon Boat Racing. Dragon boat racing utilizes a 40 foot canoe like boat that seats 20 paddlers. It is great fun and is growing in popularity in the US every year. Dragon boat racing is a team sport that requires working together (timing is everything), mastering the forward paddling stroke, and building one’s fitness and endurance.
History and Mission
Founded in 2014, CHD is an inclusive club that embraces paddlers of all skill levels. Our club’s mission is to provide the opportunity for people of all ages to learn, practice and compete in the great sport of Dragon Boat Racing. Charlotte Harbor Dragons is always looking for new members and no prior paddling experience is necessary. Our coaching staff will teach you everything you need to know and will provide you with the necessary equipment to get started. CHD owns and maintains three Dragon Boats, two traditional 40 foot long 20 paddler boats, and one 30 foot long 10 paddler boat.
